To say that the power steering “fire” problem is fixed would be a misnomer. Sure we made it through the entire race without so much as a hint of fire once all the loose fluid was burned off, but that was probably due to the amazing fluid-catching abilities of the scrunchy we wrapped around the reservoir. Unfortunately, on our third run, the car decided to give us trouble again and took away all of its power-steering-goodness (it’s a real term…look it up), leaving us white-knuckled and a bit sore. Both hands on the wheel at 10 and 2 mister!
Hopefully the issue can be resolved by this weekend’s Johnson Valley event. Seat Time > All.
Amazingly, despite the forearm wrenching we received without any power steering assist, Jake managed to pull off 3rd place and both of us consistently shaved seconds off our times as the day wore on.
